Deborah Heikes-For the Love of Family

Deb Heikes dreamed of being on stage from the time she was three. She had no idea this would manifest 45 years later as a one woman show about her family of origin. The title was “The White Trash Monologue.” The process of putting herDeborahHeikes2 family stories on paper (1 ½ years of writing, rewriting, and editing), endless hours of learning the art of embodying the characters, and laying it out in all its rawness on stage in 2010 brought Deb to a new love, appreciation, and understanding of her family. What came after the show estranged Deb from her family. Come join her in her journey from disconnection and heartache to a life changing soul transformation with her mother, age 80 and her father, age 90.
